June is the campaign period to eliminate unauthorized modified vehicles!

This campaign is implemented throughout the year, but especially during the “Month of Intensification,” the following items are intensively and aggressively implemented.

The Transportation Bureau will actively call for the elimination of unauthorized modified vehicles through publicity using mass media such as posters and flyers, Internet sites, SNS, etc., by holding on-site lectures at auto mechanic training facilities, etc., and by displaying publicity banners on buses with the cooperation of bus operators nationwide.

In particular, we will focus on educating automobile users about the illegality of the use of illegal mufflers in cooperation with automobile-related organizations.

2. conduct street inspections

In order to eliminate illegal mufflers and other maliciously modified vehicles from public roads, street inspections will be intensively conducted nationwide during the enhancement month with the cooperation of police agencies, and maintenance orders will be issued to offending vehicles, which will be strictly punished, including suspension of vehicle use, if not complied with.

3. collection of information on unauthorized modification of vehicles

A “Information Desk for Unauthorized Modified Vehicles and Nuisance Black Smoke Vehicles” will be set up at each transportation branch office, etc., and based on the information received, postcards requesting improvement reports will be sent to users of unauthorized modified vehicles, etc., for effective use in various activities for eliminating unauthorized modified vehicles.

Spring National Traffic Safety Campaign

The Spring Traffic Safety Campaign 2023 will be held from May 11 (Thu.) to 2023 (Sat.).

National Traffic Safety Campaign in Autumn

The 2022 National Autumn Traffic Safety Campaign begins today. Drivers should make every effort to be safe on the road.

Purpose

The purpose of this campaign is to promote and spread the idea of traffic safety among the public at large, to make it a habit to observe traffic rules and practice proper traffic manners, and to promote efforts by the public themselves to improve the road traffic environment, thereby ensuring the prevention of traffic accidents.

Period

1. campaign period: 10 days from September 21 (Wed.) to 30 (Fri.), 2022

2. day to aim for zero traffic accident deaths September 30, 2022 (Friday)

Exercise focus

(1) Ensure the safety of pedestrians, including children and the elderly

(2)Prevention of accidents involving pedestrians at dusk and at night, and eradication of drunk driving

(3) Ensure compliance with bicycle traffic rules

This is the month to strengthen the campaign to eliminate unauthorized modified vehicles!

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), in cooperation with related ministries and organizations, is conducting educational activities to “prevent” and “eliminate” unauthorized modification of vehicles.

As part of this effort, the “Enhancement Month” designated by each regional transportation bureau will begin on June 1, and thorough efforts will be made to create a safe and secure car society, including the implementation of street inspections.
